Bishop E. Malone Porterfield, Sr.
"Born out of time For such a time as this."
It was in the year 1991 that E. Malone Porterfield was ordained an elder under the hand of the Late Bishop J. Howard Sherman, a servant in the Church of God In Christ. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, the home and ministry of Apostle Robert and Elect Lady Wahseeola Evans. Apostle Evans found E. Malone in Lodebar, as David did Mephibosheth, and showed kindness to him. There, ministry became a reality. Under Apostle Evans, E. Malone Porterfield began to develop a heart for integrity in ministry, serving the local church as a musician and minister. While in Baltimore Apostle Evans saw a need to connect him with his biological family. E. Malone Porterfield later relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to serve in his family’s church, Ford Memorial Temple, under the leadership of his eldest brother Bishop Andrew J. Ford II.
E. Malone Porterfield then relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and birthed Restoration Tabernacle in the urban section of Sistrunk Boulevard. It was there that evangelism and restoration became a major part of his ministry. The Lord flourished the ministry, and they moved to NW 54th Street in Miami, Florida. There the Lord showed himself mighty, and many souls were saved and restored into the Kingdom of God. After placing the church in the hands of one of its elders, E. Malone Porterfield set out for North Carolina. In the year 2004, E. Malone Porterfield birthed Restoration Tabernacle and the Sunday Night Explosion. The response was so great from the Fayetteville and Sanford area that he relocated the church and experienced exponential growth in ministry.
After years of living on the backside of the desert, Bishop Porterfield has been given an opportunity to live in the light of God's purpose. On July 17, 2019 before his brother and Bishop transitioned to receive his eternal reward, he made clear his desire. Bishop Andrew James Ford, II requested that his "babybishop" lead his beloved people to their NEXT. It is with total humbleness and and spiritual fulfillment that Bishop E. Malone Porterfield, Sr. serves as the Pastor of Ford Memorial Temple.
Bishop E. Malone Porterfield’s favorite scripture is Psalm 27:13-14, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
